Aggie Wants to Know

Her post and I’m quoting:

How’d your first six months go? And what are you looking forward to the next six months?

I figured that a half-year roundup will do all of us good – it will make things easier by December when we do a lookback, right? Here’s what I did, I posted my roundup month per month, with an equivalent word (I planned this for scrapping year end month to month memories), and posted some highlights per month (your blog will come in handy here). If it’s too tedious for you, you can just list some memorable things/accomplishments/disappointments that you remember or do the survery I snagged from Glo (which you can see below – Im a sucker for these things I did it as well). If you have your Things To Look Forward To or resolutions from last January, link that as well. At the end of your post, please tell me what are the things you look forward to with the remaining months of the year (Masyado atang kumplikado to no? Hehehe – You will thank me for this!)

My Goals for the Rest of the Year:

1. Improve in my patience department. I’m not a very patient person especially with the people I love (ex: the Husband), I kinda have this idea that they love me anyway so I can be hot tempered as I want to be and they will still love me the same.
2. I’m aiming the 110 lbs. weight this year. If I get lucky I might drop that to 100 lbs. but my Husband said I will look so skinny, it will be ugly. We’ll see.
3. Eat and live healthy. It means, trying to minimize my coffee intake, more veggies and fish, less carbo and less meat.
4. Application to go out of here. Probably. Hopefully.
5. Just try to be a better person inside and out.

A little selfish with almost all the goals just for myself? But come to think of it, the people that I love will certainly benefit from these too. I pray to God that everything will go as planned, if not maybe better, in His name.

Halfway There:

January: New House. New Beginning.

We started the year by celebrating New Year at my parents’ new house. I really thank God for my parents who always wants us to live a very comfortable life. Celebrated my nephew’s first birthday by mid January. My son getting sick at the end of the month, resulted to an ER visit at the hospital. Started getting into blogging more seriously and started getting a little more extra income here and there.

Februaury: Busy Party Organizer

That was me during this month, making guest sheets for my son’s first birthday next month. Had a contest here for his party invitation template. More blogging. Hubby and I got sick, caught our son’s virus.

March: Celebrating

My son’s 1st birthday and my 31st birthday. Sweet. This month was all about celebrating and spending. We weren’t able to save for this month since we had so much bills piling up it was overwhelming. Nevertheless, we were grateful that everything was enough for that.

Extra (I borrowed this Aggie, I think I need to write this down too): Gong Yoo and Coffee Prince.

April: Kaleidoscope World

Everything is changing. Different colors and different shapes. My son showed more milestones that he is indeed growing. My sister left for Canada to face her new life there, without us. We miss her but this will be the biggest break in her career and we are mighty proud. In my case, I’m proud of myself too as a mom and as a scrapper.

May: Accomplisments

I can say that it was an accomplished plan since we did get to save a enough. Everything planned for the past months were a complete success. I got accepted to 2 amazing creative teams that I really wanted. No paypal spending and I’m just proud of myself!

June: Something New and Something Old

My parents celebrated their 32nd anniversary. Mom turned 61. Old habits die hard, but people vowed to do some effort and make a change. Married life couldn’t be any better. New bike, new hobby for my husband. Dustin can really walk on his own. I have a new CT team, a dream CT team actually.

2008 Wrap Up — First Half Edition:

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE THAT YOU’VE NEVER DONE BEFORE?
Aside from taking the risk of applying to CTs without much confidence but actually got accepted anyway, I don’t think I am too extreme to add Bungee Jumping or Wind Surfing here. LOL.

DID YOU KEEP YOUR NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS?

I stopped making one since 2000. I never kept it anyway.

DID ANYONE CLOSE TO YOU GIVE BIRTH?
Nobody I can recall. :)

DID ANYONE CLOSE TO YOU DIE?

Thank God no.

WHAT COUNTRIES DID YOU VISIT?

None.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR THAT YOU LACKED EARLY THIS YEAR?
I want to save more, but the coming Holidays, it will be impossible. I want to pray more. I need a better laptop, an Apple to be exact. I need discipline and determination, so that I can lose weight and live healthy. Food is my passion so I need a lot of discipline for that.

WHAT DATE WILL REMAIN ETCHED UPON YOUR MEMORY AND WHY?
March 24, 2008 – I’m officially a Mom of a toddler and I couldn’t feel any luckier to have my own family.

WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT OF THE YEAR?

Just letting things be, not minding if things aren’t going my way. Really proved to myself that I have patience too.

WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST FAILURE?

Not saving enough for our plans to apply for Canada. Plans that didn’t push through.

DID YOU SUFFER ILLNESS OR INJURY?
Aside from my 2 myoma. None, thank God!

WHAT WAS THE BEST THING YOU BOUGHT?

The glass feeding bottles for the tot. The bike we invested on for the Husband, none for me. :P

WHOSE BEHAVIOR MERITED CELEBRATION?
Denon. I always thought that he is really a nice man. :P

WHOSE BEHAVIOR MADE YOU APPALLED AND DEPRESSED?

Myself.

WHERE DID MOST OF YOUR MONEY GO?
Bills. For the son. For the Husband. My coffee addiction. LOL.

WHAT DID YOU GET REALLY, REALLY, REALLY EXCITED ABOUT?

My son’s first birthday.

WHAT SONG(S) WILL ALWAYS REMIND YOU OF THINGS THAT HAPPENED EARLY THIS YEAR?
Moon River, the new song this year that lulled my son to sleep. I hum that to him every night.

COMPARED TO THIS TIME, LAST YEAR, ARE YOU:

I. HAPPIER OR SADDER?
Happier – I had a really tough pregnancy early last year.
II. THINNER OR FATTER?
I’m way fatter this year. I’m thinner when I was pregnant, imagine that!
III. RICHER OF POORER?
Money wise – We’re richer now, we had to pay for hospital bills last year, though we didn’t get to save much this year, not having the stress of seeing hospital bills grow is much better.

WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU’D DONE MORE?
Save. Been more patient.

WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU’D DONE LESS OF?
Eat. Drink those regular frapps that had tons of calories, I know that I should order lite frapps from Starbucks now. :P

HOW WILL YOU BE SPENDING CHRISTMAS?
Pretty much the same, here in Manila.

DID YOU FALL IN LOVE?
I’m a hopeless romantic so go figure! :P

HOW MANY ONE-NIGHT STANDS?
None.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE TV PROGRAM?
I love shows from the Lifestyle channel but when we moved to the new house our internet was changed to this satellite channel that doesn’t have the Lifestyle channel like the one from Sky so I will settle for just Coffee Prince from GMA for now and those reality shows like Amazing Race, Survivor and Queer Eye for the Straight Buy.

DO YOU HATE ANYONE NOW THAT YOU DIDN’T HATE THIS TIME LAST YEAR?
No.

WHAT WAS THE BEST BOOK YOU READ?

Come to think of it, I haven’t read anything this year except for Toy Story’s Construction Time, Who is God? and Hail Mary coloring books and A Year Full of Stories 366 Days of Stories and Rhymes. :P

WHAT WAS YOUR GREATEST MUSICAL DISCOVERY?

Everything Jazzy.

WHAT DID YOU WANT AND GET?
The much awaited iBook!!! The husband just arrived home from work today with my Apple! Surprised? Hell Yeah! (this deserves a separate post)

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE FILM OF THIS YEAR?
Is Coffee Prince a movie. That and a few other movies downloaded from Torrent by the husband. We never get the chance to watch in theaters.

WHAT DID YOU DO ON YOUR BIRTHDAY, AND HOW OLD WERE YOU?
Just stayed at home and cook for the family. I’m 31, I don’t need a party! :P

WHAT ONE THING WOULD HAVE MADE YOUR HALF YEAR IMMEASURABLY MORE SATISFYING?
More savings for future, brighter plans hopefully soon.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL FASHION CONCEPT THIS PAST HALF YEAR?
Just the basic tee, sneaks, wedge or flops and jeans.

WHAT KEPT YOU SANE?

Family. Hobbies. God.

WHICH CELEBRITY / PUBLIC FIGURE DID YOU FANCY THE MOST?

I love YOO.

WHAT POLITICAL ISSUE STIRRED YOU THE MOST?

I hate politics and everything makes me sick to my stomach everytime I watch the news so I try to stay away from that.

WHO DID YOU MISS?
My sister.
Thanks for this Aggie! :P
