Hidden Valley Springs Day 1

Posted by Litzie on 09 Apr 2008 | Tagged as: Family Shindig

Long post. Will include my ratings for the resort.

Saturday. We lazed out around the house and left around 7am. Very late. Traffic at the south was hideous. We traveled 5 hours from Manila to Alaminos. I tell you, grabe kahit sa probinsya sinundan kami ng traffic! Whew!

As soon as we entered the long narrow road to the valley, we felt the cool breeze of Alaminos, plus it was drizzling. We were the only ones on the road, it was serene.

It took us almost 15 minutes or less to trek that long narrow road and arrived at our destination. Huge wooden gates welcome you!

Our convoy. You will verify your reservation and pay upon entry.

The Gang. At the lobby, we got our meal stubs and room key here.

We got a cottage that has a king sized bed and an attic that has 2 single beds (that can actually fit 2 persons on each bed) with bathroom and television. The resort actually requires up to 6 persons in a cottage like ours, amounting to around P20K, that includes lunch, merienda, dinner, breakfast and lunch (all buffet) for 2 days stay and unlimited use of all their facilities. They were nice enough to let one more person in the cottage, minus the babies of course with an additional payment and 2 more beds, the 7 of us fit inside the large cottage.

My sister at the attic.

In the bathroom. Yes, a sky light in the bathroom. I had a very relaxing bath here after swimming before going to dinner. I was one with the stars, it was divine! :P

Lazed inside the room first, took photos of the babies and unpacked our things.

Not to mention watching television which my son really loves.

He takes this seriously, even while playing with his Tito Ian’s goggles, he couldn’t take his eyes away from the television.

Then there were commercials where the babies danced along. It was a real nice sight to see the cousins playing.

Outside our cottage. It was gloomy when we arrived, we had to bring umbrellas because it was raining a bit.

After our 30 minutes rest, we decided to eat lunch.

We were so hungry, we ate lunch around 1.30pm already.

The Buffet Cottage area of the resort. It was really big and airy.

The buffet table located at the center was really accessible. Food was overflowing. Bottomless Iced Tea comes with each meal. A chef even talked to me and I thanked him for a wonderful feast. Waiters are always ready and staff treats each guest as VIP.

Pops and Dustin, gone wild after our well deserved lunch! Awww…

After Lunch, we trekked our way to the pool area. The pools are far from the cottages so you have to bring everything if you don’t want to go back that long path to the cottages, but walking was never hard because of the nature around you. Hmmm… Fresh air!

You can avail of the cottages around the pools. They’re everywhere. Here’s ours.

The paths around Hidden Valley Springs. Those tiny lamps are lit during the night, gives the place a cozy ambiance.

The warm pools, stone-paved cascading pools with naturally warm water. There are 3 large pools in Hidden Valley Springs, the warm pools, the soda pools and the lover’s pool. I never swam in the 2 pools but my husband told me that the water from soda and lover’s pools are colder.

I didn’t swim because I took care of the boy who slept around 3pm. Background is one of the cottages similar to ours, antique feel, clean rooms, cold A/C for a hot humid day, exterior shutters if you don’t want too much sunlight inside the cottage and a deck/porch if you want to read the paper in the morning.

My photos lazing in the pool around 6pm. To experience my own retreat after a long afternoon.

I had an hour swim with my sister and sister in law. All girls bonding time…

While the Daddies took care of the little boys in our cottage. LOL.

We capped the night with a sumptuous dinner and this time the buffet crew set up a candlelight dinner outdoors. There were candles everywhere. There was even a chef ready to roast your beef from medium rare to well done. (Just apply ample amount of off lotion to avoid mosquito bites)

Applauding his Baked Pasta.

Contented beings. Stuffed tummies. Ready to hit the bed! My son waving bye-bye to Tita Jhes, saying his good night! :P

(to be continued with TONS, more pictures)

re wp, madali lang naman mag-update.. medyo natakot nga alng ako kasi baka di mag-work, di ako marunong mag-ayos.. i just followed the instructions here http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress..

may email kasi ako natanggap from technorati, sabi yung 2.3.2 daw ng wp e may security vulnerability.

“Blogs are being compromised via this vulnerability on widespread scale. The most common symptom of a compromised blog is the presence of links to spam web sites inserted in the blog that are obscured by style attributes that render the text invisible but are still seen by crawlers
such as Technorati’s, Google’s and Yahoo’s. You can find these links by viewing the source of the blog pages or, when using Firefox, looking under “Tools” -> “Page Info” -> “Links”"

Nataranta tuloy ako kaya napa-update ako ng di oras..
